Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 2000 Windstar dash/gages electrical prob

Hello I have a 2000 Windstar that won't start, usually no crank, sometimes it cranks, sometimes it starts with no gas gauge? and headligts wont come on, The security light comes on sometimes flickering? no dash lights with key on? Radio and air work all of the time but radio sometimes will not shut off even with door open key out? Has anyone any information as where to start, I am thinking ignition switch wiggling it doesn't change anything, security light is not consistent either. Thanks

I have had a lot of light problems with my windstar the one that looks like the sun is on all the time ..I took it to a Ford dealership and he told me not to worry about it it was nothing, another garage told me it was electrical and would have to do athe rewiring I opted not to do that....I just had a complete motoer overhaul and now the little picture of the engine shows up and I dont know what that is????having trouble finding a manual and dont want to pay for more service, have checked the fluids so am stuck..This van has been made over to a handycap van for my hubby..
