Ford WindstarIntroduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.
Since I can not find a reference to this on these forums or anywhere on the net for some reason I have to ask. What's the top speed limiter on the 1999 Ford Windstar? I happened to get mine up to 110mph before I got scared and backed off of it. Hell of a run for a lil minivan on that road. It certainly can't go much faster than that can it? Not that I'm eager to try it the van seems to shudder badly over 90.
By the way before anyone starts trolling this experiment was done on a private track/road.

dude, fix the shudder first, unless you want to die. my van has no vibrations up to 105 mph. Like my van, the 1999 probably has a speed limiter at about 120-150 mph, if it even has one. More than likely it doesn't have one because I don't think windstars have enough horsepower to get past 120 mph anyway.

One time, I went to 115 mph on a highway with my 1998 Ford Windstar 3.8L (200 HP).
I was not scared. I got no vibration, not too much wind. Very good stability.
It's why it's called a WINDstar.
I was obligate to brake because of the corner. If not, I will go up to 125 mph. I got a good acceleration at 115 mph. My dashboard is scalled up to 200 kph (125 mph), so I think that 125 is the top speed.
Like someone say, it doesn't have a speed limiter, only a rpm limiter at 5000 rpm. So you can go up to 166 mph in a down hill with overdrive.
Only horsepower limit the speed at around 125 mph if the engine is in good condition.
*Previous Memory* I floored my WS up this hill by my house all the time, I can get the engine to scream up to 5500 RPM before it shifts to 2nd... That thing can freaking peel out almost all the way the way up the hill, so much power (or crappy new tires).
