Ford ZX2 Ford ZX2 offers sporty styling, responsive handling, brisk acceleration, and everyday comfort and practicality for one or two people. Its back seat and trunk are fully usable. Yet the ZX2 is easy on fuel, and costs less than some base-level sedans. Gone is the smooth, grille-less look, replaced by a dark horizontal slash between the headlights.

Default Ford ZX2 NITROUS

I have a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2, 5 spd, no mods. I'm considering order a dry nitrous kit for it, between 50-75 hp shot. The downfall is that the car has 125000 miles, is this a bad idea or am I in the clear?

I plan on getting colder plugs, getting my timing slightly retarded (Not sure how much, can someone help), and installing a Zex Dry Kit.

Can someone please help me out, thanks.

considering the mileage and your probably doubling the actual hp with a 75 kit I wouldnt think it would be a good idea.I would recomend a wet set up where you can lower the hp rating or go with a sneaky pete system.(I ran one of those on my Festiva)

A dry shot on any car is a bad idea because it doesn't add the fuel along with it. You'll want the wet shot so it'll add fuel in with it. Since you have the 98 you should have a valve on the fuel rail. This will make it easier to use a wet kit since the rail is tapped already. Many have just ran the stock PCM with colder plugs on a 50 wet shot without issues.
