 ZX2 Air Conditioner problems......
I have a 1999 XZ2 with the Zetec engine and automatic transmission. It seems to have a recurring problem with the air conditioning system.
If the high pressure switch is disconnected, the system operates normally. With the switch connected, however, it will start and run for about thirty seconds before the compressor kicks out. The high pressure switch was replaced with two other ones with the same result. The climate control module has been replaced with two others from the "boneyard"...no success in either case. With one, the system would not even start.
I seem to recall having this problem about two years ago and we wound up having to get a new module from Ford. I don't mind having to replace the module but I wonder why it has such a short life span....
Has anyone had a similar problem???
