Ford ZX2 Ford ZX2 offers sporty styling, responsive handling, brisk acceleration, and everyday comfort and practicality for one or two people. Its back seat and trunk are fully usable. Yet the ZX2 is easy on fuel, and costs less than some base-level sedans. Gone is the smooth, grille-less look, replaced by a dark horizontal slash between the headlights.

Exclamation Need help identifying road noise

When i hit about 35, i start to get a noise that sounds kind of like tires that are out of balance. It isnt the tires because I just had them balanced/rotated. It seemed to start doing this after it had been sitting for awhile. Just did the timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt and steering rack but I dont think any of that relates. Could it be wheel bearings, CV joints??

Does it stop after a length of time?

I have something similar... the tires get this weird cupping and make the noise, also had wheel bearing repacked, but the struts need to be replaced.

yup, from letting the car sit on the tires, there is probably an out-of-round issue, no amount of balancing will fix it, deal with it or replace the tires.

To check this, visually inspect or put your tires on another car (if you have access to a similar car) and see if the noise continues.
