I worked on a neighbors 2001 f150 this weekend he took the truck to a shady shop in town. They said his heater core was plugged up. he could not afford the 1200.00 they wanted to replace so they bypassed it for him.
I took apart the entire dash and removed the core that upon inspection was not plugged or leaking. So I thougt maybe the heater door was not opening so this being a work truck and the owner not wanting to spend any more money we removed the heater door and I was going to put a coolant shut off under the hood.
After re assembly we have very little heat ????? Why. I can take it all apart again but really want to be sure it is fixed, the hoses to the core are hot.
Thanks, Steve
