Default 1993 Aerostar 3.0 Heat/AC Function control

My function control works fine on off, heat, mix and defrost. Also activates ac in both levels, BUT does not activate dash vents in AC or Vent modes.
It is vac type.

She has 265k miles but I'd drive her across country! Anyway I can just manually, if I have to, get in to the baffle plate and just keep it on dash-blow
for ALL functions??

Aerostar's have BIG and flat dash surfaces which make it nice for putting stuff on. But when pencils, pens, paperclips, happy meal toys get in the defroster vents, they drop down and jam the mode doors. If you pull the top dash plate, and the right dash speaker, you might find the moving parts that operate the air doors.
