Default 97 Escort, AC cycles on and off

I've replaced my brothers compressor, orifice tube and accumulator. The system will cycle on for about 5 seconds, then off for 8 to 10 seconds, then back on. I uplugged the pressure switch from the sensor on the accumulator and jumped the 2 terminals together, the AC system works to design. My low side reading is about 26 and the high side reading is about 160.

I ohm tested the switch in the accumulator with the engine off, closed circuit, 0.0 ohms. Start the engine with the wiring harness for said switch hot wired, about 5 seconds after the clutch kicks in, the pressure switch goes open circuit and stays open until after the engine is shut off, then I can hear a click from the switch/accumulator and it goes back to closed circuit.

I tried a new pressure switch and the results were the same, so I'm thinking I'll be removing that accumulator and swapping it out. There isn't anything else I might be missing is there?

Thank you.
