Default 88 taurus Rad. fan/ heater/AC prob.

greetings.

i'm a new member trying to help a friend with her car, so here's the problems.

1. radiator fan not working.

hot wired fan it runs.
checked fuses under dash, all good.
when i unplug the cts the engine idles up higher.
what's with that?
haven"t checked resistance to cts yet (2 wire sensor).

have i missed checking a fuse somewhere else?

2. heater won't work.

haven't checked it out at all so far.
not even sure if the fan blows or not.
will check resistor in glove box compartment if fan won't run.

am i missied checking a fuse somewhere?

3. AC not working.

haven't checked it out yet.
will investigate more.

am i missing a fuse somewhere?

the main concern at the time i was looking the car over was the heating up issue.

the lady mentioned in passing that she had no AC
(not uncommon i guess) and no heat in the winter (brrrr).

i'm on my way to check it out more so any ideas would be great.

thanks.

Angry 98 Windstar A/C problems helpppp!!!!

I have been having problems with my windstar A/C. Last year I heard a hissing noise from the dash and the air was not working every time. I disconnected the battery for something else and when I reconnected it the A/C worked fine. A while back, it was working in the rear only. I recharged it last year when the compressor was working but it still cycled rapidly. Now.....nothing. I took the dash apart last night and inspected the vacuum hoses and replaced the function selector switch. This morning the rear air worked for 2 minuets. Now it front or rear does not work at all.

Thanks
