Hi:
same thing happened on my 2002 windstar. I thought that because of age and high milage (192500) the fan was woren out. so i bought a new one. when I took the old fan out of its housing, I found that the blade (pin) connector in the plug was not fully set in the slot. I pulled it ( the pin) all the way out with a pair of long nose pliers until the blade was fully set in the plug, the old fan worked just fine. I guess that with all the bouncing around that the windstar goes through the pin worked its way loose and became intermittant, it would work in the morning when cold, but not after it was fully warmed up..
