Default Rattling in a/c 2005

There is a terrible rattling/grinding from the area of my serpentine belt. I replaced the tensioner assembly and the belt, and now it is worse! Looks like the pulley attached to the a/c is the next suspect. I have limited experience and no special tools (I loaned out the tensioner tool from the store where I got the parts)... is this something I can continue to pursue on my own, or is it time to get to the shop and take advantage of the extended warranty? My a/c still runs fine - cold. The noise is louder when the a/c is on, and I can see the outer plates wobbling and chattering when it is on - but it makes some noise when off as well.
I am really disappointed that I spent the time and money on the tensioner/belt and it was not the problem

That noise you mention might be caused by the compressor or the clutch going bad. If ever I think you will be need a new AC clutch. But it is better to your auto mechanics.
