ok, so my a/c went out, the clutch is not engaging, so now blowing cool air. horrible noise coming from under hood. mechanic quoted me $1100 to repair or replace numerous parts, compressor, clutch, dryer vent or screen?, etc. i want to know from you since i hate being raked over the coals by auto shops, is $1100 way to much to pay for this kind of repair.
on top of that he said he found out why compressor went out, says water pump had a leak and leaked all over it. could that be why?
