Default I have a 91 Ford Explorer with A/C problems. I need to clean out the line from the

OK. I was told to clean out the line from the condensor to the evaporator. I know there is a line below the accumulator, but where is the top part of the line that goes into the condensor that I need to blow the air into in order to clean this line out? I am replacing the accumulator as well, but I was told that this line needed to be cleaned out, and the orifice tube changed or else it would stop blowing cold after a few days. Please help!

Take it to an airconditioning shop and have them do it! The lines ALL need to be "blown out" the repair shop will use nitrogen to blow them out (or in some cases carbon dioxide-though less common). You don't want to use compressed air, because air has moisture in it (water). Water will foul up inside of the system and make it break down again! After the system is cleaned out, the repair shop will put on vacuum pump and draw out as much moisture as possible. Also it is wise to put in a new accumulator too, -as there is most likely moisture in it that caused origional failure, - and the drier bags inside the accumulator tend to come apart and let the dessicant go down the lines, - POW -another dead system!!

The whole thing is because the Critical charge" system that is used in your vehicle uses a "calibrated pellet" if any trash at all goes down the high pressure line it will get caught in the pellet, and the system stops working! This happens even though there is a "screen" in front of the pellet.

I moved your post since it clearly was all about the A/C system and nothing about cleaning and detailing.

I never heard of needing to clean out a single A/C line before, replacing or repairing yes but never cleaning. Evacuating the system is like cleaning the hoses in an off beat sort of way but this removes mostly water and contaminants.

Take it to a reputable A/C repair shop.
