Default El cheapo compressor/vac

An old window ac unit is an excellent high pressure compressor and it does double duty to use for a vac supply. Remove the ac compressor from the housing and mount to a board or whatever. Braze ends onto the suction and discharge of the unit. I have seen even the smallest ones put out 150psi takes awhile to get that high of pressure(semi tire) but it will get it there.
It also makes a good suction pump for vaccing down ac units after repair work. If you are not sure on how to wire it PLEASE have someone do the wiring for you and make sure it is protected from little fingers!!
Every say 2-3 hours of run time you will need to put some oil in it and connect the discharge and suction lines to let some oil circulate for 10 minutes or so to keep everything lubed. It will never be a paintshop quality
compressor but for every now and then filling tires, running air tools(resovoir tank is needed) or putting a new ac under vacuum it can't be beat for the price. If you want to make one that will last a old York compressor from a 80's truck and an electric motor (1/2hp) with a pulley on it would be ideal since they have a seperate oiling system for the compressor and you will get dry air from them.

If you have intermittant running problems or a flat spot/buck/dying/cutting out while accelerating.
Do your self a favor and try some dedicated gas
line dryer, Double or even triple dose it, It's cheaper
then throwing parts at a problem that doesn't throw
codes!!
