Ever had a electrical contact that needed to be cleaned but couldn't find anything to fit in there(especially on the multi wire connectors)
Head down to your local music shop and pick up a set of guitar strings. I like the phosphour bronze ones as opposed to ss. since it is a softer metal. They come in different gauges from 09 to 52 which is a good set of sizes to have around. Of course you can go all the way to bass guitar strings if you needed something that big.
The ridges from the winding around the center of the string are what does the work. They also make good jumpers for say the low pressure switch when doing ac work, they are naturally springy and that will hold them inside the connector while you are working, Unlike regular wire which sometimes falls out! Just be careful using it since it is uninsulated unless you shrink wrap it for this use!!
OF course pull the battery terminal if you are cleaning electric contacts! Cleaning small orifices like carb jets and passages these work awesome because of their springiness. It beats a torch tip cleaner since those can be hard on the brass. Believe me you will find many uses for it once you have a set!
