    Hi Abe,
Have a 03 windstar...and its driving me nuts, i cannot find my high cold idle problem and reading your posts, you might know best.... when cold start, if i drive it for first ten minutes or so, itll go itself, up to 20mph, even shift into 2nd on its own, without touching the pedal. When it gets fully warm, its almost fully normal, the idle tends to settle down, however, it seems like the van coasts forever, as in its still getting gas... i'm getting no codes whatsoever, not even stored codes. i cleaned the iac valve twice. i replaced the throttle sensor. i checked for vacuum leaks though gotta remove cowl to check the back lines, i think.

my question is... does this sound like a bad iac valve ? im getting no codes. its completely clean. i did notice that when i was cleaning it that the valve doesnt fully seat at no voltage, but i think this is normal. the thing is, if the iac valve was bad, id think id get a malfunction code. someone also said its the engine coolant temperature sensor.
my e/mail is ginodiclemente@yahoo.com thanks abe

your advice was extremely helpful on my ford taurus as we were having a severe oil leak and had no idea why. The info you gave to other people sure helped me a great deal as I was able to fix the problem myself. You definitley saved us a lot of money. The problem on our oil leak was because of oil change service not done properly. The o ring from the old oil filter was left on while new oil filter was put on. That is what caused this major leak.
