Hello I am a new member to this forum, I have this problem that has been going on this past summer. I have a 1997 Ford Ranger with 217000 miles on it that runs great when it is cold or on days under 80 degrees. It seems on very hot humid days it will stall out and not restart for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. By the time I call a tow truck and it arrives it will start back up. I took it to a local mechanic and he said it had a code 231 in the PCM and said to replace the fuel pump. It was the orginal pump so I said replace it and the fuel filler hose as that was cracked also. Fuel filter has been replaced, fuel shut off switch, fuel relay and pcm relay. It has also stalled out going over railroad tracks. I have cleaned the contacts in the fuse box inside of the engine compartment with electrical cleaner. This has been driving me crazy as to what could be causing this problem. It seems that when it stalls out and will not restart if I remove the PCM relay it starts right up. Do you think it may be a bad PCM. I would greatly appricate and help to finding a fix for this problem. Thanks
