I've never heard of a pin. Have you tried using a harmonic balancer tool? Most parts stores lend them out.

    fordman54,

Those heads would be suitable with either a B&A intake manifold or an Edelbrock "E-Boss" intake manifold on a 302. If you'll note however that the chambers are "open" on those heads and you'll need a flat top or domed piston to get a good static compression ratio with those heads. Personally I'd keep digging for closed chamber aussie 2v heads.

Hi, a while ago i posted a thread about converting to a boss 302 and you xhimed in with some very helpful information, ive then since begin to think further about this and was wondering if these heads wolud fit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-...3286.m14.l1318 im pretty tight on budget, around 300-500 and have a very buildable 302, if i get these heads is it all i need?

Thanks for your suggestion. I opted to change the range sensor according to the 668 code I had and I nailed it on trhe head. Changed the sensor and the car shifts like the day it was born. Runs like a top. Thanks anyway.
    Have a good one!

So I checked it with a EEC-IV scanner came up with a 668 which is the MLP. So for $35.00 I'm gonna give it a try since every blog I read says these vehicles have chronic MLP problems. I'll let ya know how I do.
    Thanks.

the vehicle speed sensor will not give you any good information by checking resistance. You may check for voltage as your driving, you'll probably have to get a breakout box in order to go that far.

My suggestion is take your car to a professional transmission specialist.
