So this is Ford country. Have a 1974 Explorer, 410 ci, 4x4, c-6, and totally stock except for '79 power steering box. I've had it since it was new and put 1 new transmission in, rebuilt 390 which went sour so rebuilt again to 410 specs with RV cam and Edelbrock 650 and aluminum hi-rise. Gets 14 on th highway empty, 5 pulling a 28 ft boat to Lake Mead or Powell. The boat actually gets better mileage at 3000 rpm than the pickup at 3500. With gas gouging a reality, anyone want to buy a cabin cruiser?
