Hi I just got a 94 Ford Aspire paid very little for it, but got for my son whom just got his license. It ran fine got it home shut it off went out later to try to start it and it wouldn't start. I am getting no fuel, and no spark. I called a couple mechanics about this and they are saying it is the computer. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did u fix it?

What that is is your torque converter not locking up. I would take it to a transmission shop and see what they say. I had the same situation and i changed my fluid and all is well... Are you sire the shop did the job? I would take a look at the fluid and if it looks bad, take it back and demand they fix it, if not, you might need a new torque converter... Hope this helps. In the explorers, the weakest link is the transmission, like all fords. If/when you get your torque converter or tranny fixed, i would recommend an external trans cooler,
    and this, http://www.explorerexpress.com/trans...cd53186dedcdc9
    again, hope this helps you!!

Transmission / u joint vibration Please Help !! I have 1997 Mercury Moutaineer 5.0 AWD. I bought it new and it has 133,000 miles. It has been a great truck and always been maintenanced. The last couple weeks I have noticed that it starts to have a vibration when it shifts to OD. I have changed trans fluid and used synthetic. The vibration is still there. It is only for a second and it feels like you are going over a rumble strip going up to a stop sign. Any suggestions?
