Question Newbie from Portland, OR

Hey there all...
Just got my 62 Ford falcon Futura about a month ago. I'd been looking for like 3 yrs for the right one I could afford. So... it still needs quite a bit of work... but it runs pretty good... or at least, well... it runs. ;oJ
I really don't know much about cars & how to fix em... but I've always loved the old ones & prefer a classic to some brand new vehicle. My problem now is learning everything I can so I can do most of it myself... or at least some of it. So I plan on being on here asking ya all questions.
My first is... does anyone know where the hidden VIN #'s are?
The guy i bought it from said he had no problem licensing it.. (it had a current title & tags in WA)
Now OR DMV says the ID plate dosn't match... so i need to find the hidden ViN #'s on the frame cuz they didn't know. He said to have the state patrol check it... but i prefer to stay far away from coppers as best i can.

So... can anyone help me with this first... of many more questions I will be askin?

THANX!

My 66 mustang had a vin number stamped to the front driver's side of the engine compartment. Have to look close by the fender. You may need a wire brush to clean up with. Then again may not even be located there. Worth a try. Hope that may help.
