Default harmonic balancer question from a new guy

I am building a mild 302 that came out of a 1974 f-100. I just bought the block and the rotating assembly. The engine didn't come with a harmonic balancer. How do I tell what imbalance i will need, 28oz or 50oz?

Welcome to the forums! If I remember correctly, all 302's up to 1982 have a 28oz balancer. Anything after that is 50oz. Check with a parts guy, he can look it up for you in case I'm wrong. Good luck!
