Default Greets!

I found this forum while Googling for info WRT a retired buddy's '96 Taurus (lack of) A/C and joined primarily to say thanks for the general tech info and specifically for the incredibly low $$$ DIY fix I found on the Escort forum that I was able to do in ~ an hour, saving him ~ $190 (at least for now) to get him through the sweltering Ga. heat/humidity: http://www.ford-forums.com/ford-esco...dule-ccrm.html

Default I have the same issue

My problem is - how do you get the box open? I read a previous forum about someone saying they drilled in the box... but I'm not sure how to go about this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Drilling the center of the rivet with a drill bit approx 1/2 - 2/3 the diameter of the rivet head will remove the head and allow you to take the cover off. Good Luck.
