Hello all, new member/poster.
I am looking at used cars for a daughter getting ready to go off to college. I ahve visitied several used/new lots in my area and have idenitified a couple possible cars. One is a 98 Escort with 73k miles on it, body isn't too bad and paint looks original with fading. Very small rust spot under weather stripping window trim on door, weather trim is loose.
What I really want to know is if there are any issues that the late 90's Escort models had that I sould be concerned with?
Any adivse on issues to look out for would be appreciated.
I agree with Mike, I had a 94 and other than a tie rod end, CV axle and the timing belt, ( the cv axle was operator abuse ) these cars are great! Mine got nearly 40 mpg with a 5 speed trans

Some one got the escort before I did, thanks anyway.
I've got prospects on another Ford, but I'll start a new thread for that one. Thanks again Mike and DustDevil
