Angry HELP PLEASE! 95' T-bird v8 front brakes squeek only when brakes not applied!

I have a 95' Ford Thunderbird LX v8 4.6. Just recently i got my brakes and new rims replaced. Shortly after that, i noticed some squeeking... and when I applied my brakes the squeeking went away!? So while i am driving not applying the brakes my front tires make an aweful squeeking noise like i drive a junky car ( WHICH I DONT!) and when I break the squeeking stops.... I have takin it to a mechanic and he found nothing wrong... has anyone else had this problem before or ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!? its killing me

The calipers may not be retracting fully due to air in the line, bad old water contaminated fluid or damaged calipers.

Brake fluid should also be changed every 4 years. Brake fluid attracts water even in a sealed system and this causes the brake system to fail prematurely.

Did your mechanic use "Disc Brake Quiet" on the pads?

Disc Brake Quiet is a liquid that coats the metal on the back of the pads and dries like rubber and absorbs vibrations that cause squeaks.

There's also a spray version, but you want to use a couple coats.

You may also try having the mechanic slightly grind the leading and trailing edges of the brake pads, I used to do this to alot of cars that had the same problem.

As Mark said...
"The calipers may not be retracting fully"
There are pins or slides that the calipers slide on. They should be greased and checked for movement, else the calipers may not fully retract, and one can have premature brake pad wear.

I'm not a professional mechanic, take my suggestions with a grain of salt, or a cup of coffee
