I am the proud owner of a 1964 Ford Falcon four door. This last week something let go in my inline six engine. She is spitting out pure white smoke and making a ticking noise. I have removed the valve cover and inspected the valve train and have found nothing triggering a problem, everything seems to be moving and operating properly. I am in the process of getting a compression checker and a 13/16" spark plug socket (as my deep well is too fat to fit in the recess of the head). Other than a head gasket (which is what my next questionable place is), are there any other problems that would show the same symptoms? Also i have noticed that there are several different cubic inch in line sixes and how can i tell which one i have? Also parts interchange ability between them. I am curious if the three on the tree will line up with a 289 or 302 by switching the bell housing or not, as finacially i am unable to do too much for a conversion (ex. driveshaft and tranny). Any pointers or links to sites that might help me in the above questions and for replacement parts, I would be most greatful thank all of you for welcoming me into the forum
