New Member AreaFinally decided to create that account and become part of this great Ford enthusiast forum. Stop in and tell us a little bit about yourself. This is a good place for you to get that first post out of the way and welcomed into this great community.
New member here. I have a 92 Tempo GL as my name says. I got it 15 months ago. I've had many other Fords before though. I'm have a problem with the automatic transmission, When I turn left the car down shifts to first and stays there unless I punch the gas pedal. The car shifts normally going straight or turning right. Just on the left turns. Nothining is sticking on the throttle body or the rod from the body to the transmission. Anyone else ever encounter this?
Check the transmission fluid level, usually while hot, engine idling and in park. If low, only top off with fluid that is marked "Mercon V". DO NOT OVERFILL !
While your at it what collr is the fluid ? If dark red/brown (not bright cherry red) and/or it smell burnt you are going to be looking at a rebuild soon.
