Default Hi There

Hey everyone-newb here.

This look like a great forum and I look forward to drawing on all the knowledge here.

...and what's an intro without a request for info?

I am considering a 98 Windstar GL for daily driving and hauling purposes. It's got 130K on it. While I dont' expect the vehicle to be perfect, the Power Steering pump is pretty loud, and while it works, I'm leery. Also, there's a definite "rubbing" sound...metal on plastic or metal at low speed coming form the steering gear, which leads me to believe tie rod ends and/or sway bar links. Also, when I get on the gas from a stop, the brake light on the dash comes on, leading me to think the master cylinder is low on fluid...and when combined with a spongy pedal, I'm thinking brake work be in the near future. Any insight or experience on these issues would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Derek
