I see where the Dems and Repubs are graciously going to send from $600 to $1200 of our money back to us to spur the economy. What i want to know is----Why didn't they just leave it with us to start us ?
I'm not even sure we are going to get a check... They may just give us a tax break, or alloting the money to the states.
A part of me wants the money (go figure) but then again I'm worried about this just making the problem worse. I believe ( and yes I'm very opionated) that the money should only be spent on items made in the USA or services. If people buy foreign goods I don't think much of the money will make its way back into the pockets of Americans, and that could defeat the whole purpose.
Yeah this is going to be sweet since I cry myself to sleep every night when I think about how much I pay in taxes.
And they didn't do this before because the economy was doing so dam well. Now that the economy is in the crapper they needed to do something that would stimulate the market. This is their best idea thus far...

Somebody hit on it, buy something made in the USA, otherwise buying from overseas is like a link missing out of our food chain. Refunds are nice, but it is us the consumer and it is us the manager or CEO or whatever who has pushed thousands and thousands of jobs out of the USA. What happened to the Super Power the strongest nation in the world, now we have to consult with other countries, rely on what they give us. Do not blame it on the government, we put them there, do not blame China, we gave it to them, they didn't take it, at least not yet!
Hey there newbie here.
If they want to help the small guys like us then get rid of that frigging "over tax" when you work overtime, currently its something like 33% of your overtime hours hourly. Plus the employer gets taxed more as well. Then you get taxed more at the end of the year "because you made more" WTF??
"why did i just put in 10 hours more??"
This will help a lot for us the short term, but hell its no big fix by any means.

The only real way for it to help is if people put it BACK into the economy. However, I have a feeling that a large number of people will save it, pay bills or pay down debts.
But I am looking forward to my $1200. (my wife and I combined)

My aunt was telling me about this the other day and I just have a hard time believing that our glorious government is going to send every tax payer a check...aren't we as a nation in debt anyways?? It confuses me!
My tax guy told me, the way they are reading the rules
that go along with this money is: it will be income, and
if you get 600 or 1200 it may be subtracted out of your
next year taxes. But I also have heard that it won't.
Who knows the truth, find out next year...
