We hope that everyone can see some kind of speed improvement on the site. We are going to continue to monitor and tweet the new server so we can get optimal performance for the community.

actually i noticed a slight improvement on my dial-up ...

I liked the notice you posted identifying the site being down for an upgrade. Even the scheduled times. Very impressive.

I never even noticed when it was down

It is defiantly quicker. I realized it was complete, when I had to log in again.

We used to have a weird sorta joke...

A school buddy got DSL in our local town about 7 years ago. Several people questioned him about the local town getting DSL and some had their doubts. They always said that "Direct Sparrow Link-up" didn't count as DSL! We always imagined a little mail box on the roof of his house and barn sparrows delivering messages like pigeons!
