Default Aftermarket Stereo No Sound

I have a 1991 Ford Tempo L, and the aftermarket stereo I have was working.. now i have no sound.... It works every once an awhile,, but goes back to having no sound. I checked the fuses for the stereo including for the premium sound amp, and they seem to be all fine. Any ideas? If it is the stock amp in the dash how do I get to it? All the connections are redone and still nothing

Did you use a signal adaptor to kick down the output to keep from frying the factory amp?

Boy I'm not sure, some models of Ford cars had the amp mounted behind the back seat. In the dash could be a real pain.

Oh in my 85 Mustang You could just take off the dash cover to get to it.
