Default iPod and Satellite interface on 08 Escape

I just purchased a new 08 Escape. It has the base radio from what I can tell. It is a single CD player.

I love the line in but miss the ability to control my iPod through the deck that I had in my F-150 with the aftermarket pioneer deck.

I would also like to add Satellite radio.

There is a button that says it is for satellite radio, but when pressed it just tells me that there is no satellite radio installed. Can this be added after the fact or was it a factory only option?

Also, is there some interface or link or cable I can purchase to control my iPod through the deck?

Given the new design of the dash in the 08, with the readout up on top of the dashboard, it appears that changing over to an aftermarket deck would be a lot of trouble as most of the center of the dash would need to be replaced, and would likely interfere with AC controls and the like...

I asked all of these questions at the dealership when I bought the car yesterday and no one had an answer for me.

I had a similar problem with my 08 edge. I wanted to hook up my ipod but still get the text and control. I found this site Peripheral Electronics you should check it out. Just enter your make, model, and year and then they've got these ipod solutions. Make sure to check out the PXAMG. The PXAMG directly connects your iPod to your radio allowing you to browse your music, by Artist, Album, Genre, and Playlist from the radio controls. I decided to go with it. It works magnificently.
