ok, im lost on this one, ive asked stereo pros and they said theres no relation. my problem, i have a 98 ZX2 5 spd, and stereo got all fusion speakers w/ 2 12 in, subs in box from maker. and recently (or b4, noticed recently) whenever i turn up my radio my idle drops. not regular music but when my bass hits. like said im told its not related, but it happens in my car. and idk y. max on stereo is 50 volume, i only go as high as 35 volume, anytime i go past 20 volume i open windows. so if any1 knows y or HOW this happens i would grealty appreciate the help.
well ive recently got a new battery and new alternator, old ones went bad or just got old. but here where i am not many places have capacitors anymore. they just wanna put in a new battery in the back. but i just did it again. and its ok until the bass hits. just loud music dont do it. but thanks and ill try to find some capacitors.
try amazon.com they sell capacitors for pretty cheap. at least thats were i bought mine. i have a 15 Hollywood Excursion hooked up to my 88 crown vic and notice nothing. and its running strait from my batterry and i still havent hooked the capacitor up yet... i do notice that my headlights dim at night when the bass hits but my idle stays normal
Cruthfield.com is another place you can look for all your audio and video needs for your ride. Also you can get a higher output alternator that will help eliminate the drop in power.
Capacitor is what you need.... wire it up near the amplifier, capacitor sizing is simple.
1000W = 1 farad
so if your amp is 600 watts, you should find a capacitor of 0.6-1.0 farad. The capacitor's job is to set up a buffer for the power to the amp, it'll help level out the voltage whenever the bass hits.
