Default CD player for My Explorer......

I'm thinking about getting a New CD player for my Explorer and Replacing the Cassette player in my 94 Taurus GL sedan With a CD player.

Can any CD player work in the Explorer or do I have get it Modified?

Do I have to get the Taurus modified in any way?

What would it Take???

I put an aftermarket cd player in my 02 explorer sport using an aftermarket wiring harness adapter and a faceplate kit. You should be able to get these where ever you buy your cd player. You shouldn't have to modify either of your vehicles in any way. As for the taurus, you should only need the harness adapter, as the factory player should be the same size as an aftermarket unit and slide right into the opening. If you are putting a single DIN cd player in your explorer, you will need a faceplate kit as the factory unit is DIN and a half. Any stereo shop worth it's salt will be able to help you get all the right components to make this a simple and easy swap. I've put a lot of cd players in a lot of different vehicles, so I've learned a few things along the way. Good luck with your projects!!
