Default Satellite Device for factory installed Radio

Just bought a 2005 T-Bird. Has the Satellite button, but the guy at the audio place I went to said I needed a factory part sold by Ford to go behind my factory radio...Had asked the Ford place I bought it from and they said I needed to go to sound dealer! What is the story? The guy said Ford may charge about $300 for the box, then they can hook it up for me..saving the exhorbant charges ford would charge. He said to get on the internet and look for the box for about $150. Anyone got a lead on this?
