Question 98 Ford 150 Key will not turn

Friend has a 98 Ford 150. He turned the key in reverse to turn on the radio. Now he cannot get the key to turn. He thinks he may have to get another lock set for the column. Not sure if there are any techniques to get the key to turn. The key will come out. It just will not turn.

could the steering wheel be in a bind ? Have you tried turning the wheel one way or another and turning the key.
