If your car has aluminum alloy wheels they can potentially crack if the lug nuts are too tight.

ive always been told to use a torque wrench so it wont come off or u wont break them and my dad wont even let me use an impact to tighten them cuz he said it will strip the lugs and im 17

Aluminum wheels should be torqued to around 95 to 100 foot pounds. The use of the torque wrench in a star pattern will insure that your rotors won't warp with time and higher temps.
